Publications

At the Portarlington Neighbourhood House there are a number of groups of writers who meet regularly and contribute to both in-house newsletters and publications. If you are interested in joining please call the office on 5259 2290 to find out when the various groups meet. Some groups are limited by numbers so please check beforehand.

The Portal

Portarlington Neighbourhood House Writer's Magazine

The Thursday Night Writers' Group is an established group that meets on a monthly basis to read and critique each other's work. A selection of this work is published in their magazine, 'The Portal'.

The Portal is published when there is sufficient material to create a magazine issue. All past editions are listed and we hope to encourage YOU to read, enjoy and perhaps be inspired to join a writing group.

House Proud

Newsletter

House Proud was a PNH initiative of some years ago, but was resurrected in a new thematic form in 2018 by a team of volunteers interested in reporting, research and writing. The first issue was published in October 2018 and the House Proud team followed that up with two issues in 2019 and another this year. All issues have a community theme and stories are sourced from the PNH members to support that theme.
